Message from the Ranger Service
Hi Everybody,
Hopefully you will all be aware of THC Access Ranger Service and the role that we have undertaken this year in the Highlands. During the year I have been in direct contact with many of you and so I will save you from the long introduction.
Firstly I’d like to take the opportunity of thanking you all for the fantastic work that has been undertaken over the years in helping to keep our Loch Ness area clean. We all live in an outstanding location which we are all very proud to call our home. And so, to have communities taking time and making the effort to keep Loch Ness beautiful for locals and visitors alike is something to be applauded.
I have included you on this email because you either play a key part in the community council and/or undertake a significant role in bringing your community together when it comes to clearing litter.
In the first instance I know that we all independently undertake the clearing of litter and/or organise community litter picks throughout the year.
My intention is to create a WhatsApp group (Friends of Loch Ness) that will provide a method for us all to communicate and share both experiences and advice. This may be initially to coordinate t(or start) community litter picks around Loch Ness to happen on similar days etc.
With time there may be visitor or volunteer days that could be organised that will allow people from outside our communities to give something back.
I recognise that many of you have been undertaking these tasks already but I believe that developing the bonds between our Lochside communities has positive benefits for all.
As the winter season is upon us the visitor count hasn’t totally disappeared but the real focus will be for the start of the visitor season before Easter.
I look forward to being in contact with you all.
Have a good Christmas.
Best wishes
Tim Francis
