Nativity Play

November 30, 2022 by colin

Dear neighbours!

The children at Aldourie and Foyers PS have been working hard together to perform for you a show called ‘Fireside nativity’ and I am writing to invite you to our performances. We have two performances planned, one in Foyers and one in Dores. The first performance is at Foyers PS on Monday 19th Dec 1.30pm -2.30pm.

The second performance is at Dores Parish hall on Tues 20th Dec at 6.30pm – 7.30pm.  Entry to these events is free. We will be selling raffle tickets to win a lovely food hamper with items donated by parents and staff, and also selling some lovely crafts that the children have made.

We do hope you are able to join us.

Kind regards

Louise

Reporting a Problem to Highland Council

November 30, 2022 by colin

Dear Community Council,

There have been some queries raised about how best Community Councils can report or raise issues with the Council.  The best course for any Community Council is to use the Council’s website to report any matter.   On the Council’s home page there is a Report a Problem function: https://www.highland.gov.uk/report This links to a range of electronic forms, created for customers to log issues themselves 7 days a week/24 hours a day.  You will receive a reference number and, for the majority of matters, feedback on what has happened with regards the issue you’ve raised.

I hope  this is helpful.

Regards

November 29, 2022 by colin

I have been in contact with the HC Service Point re the collection of the blue bins. They have had a few emails about it and I am expecting a call from the refuse dept tomorrow with an update, this is due to ongoing works by Scottish Water and the lorry not being able to get access.

Update to follow

Didn’t get a phone call but noticed the lorry out for the blue bins this morning hopefully the bins not emptied all got done.

Dores and Essich Community Trust

November 29, 2022 by colin

The Dores Community Development Trust has been set up to manage any monies received by the community by outside agencies, such as Rock Ness or the community benefit from larger projects in the area. We currently hold approximately £150k.

Anyone living in the Parish for 3 years or more can be a member, and as a member, you can apply for funding for projects which would benefit the community.

The DCDT are also recruiting for Directors for 2023. Being a Director simply means attending a handful of meetings each year, where applications for funding are discussed and agreed. Directors may only remain on the Trust for 4 years concurrently.

If you would like to be a member or could give up a little time to be a Director, please see https://doresonlochness.com/services-information/dores-community-development-trust/ for more information.
