Post Office Services in Dores

June 14, 2021 by simon

The post office are carrying out a consultation on postal services that were until the sad passing of the Postmistress Lilly operated in the village. Is there anyone in the village interested in operating the service ? This would be subject to Post Office conditions etc but I am just posting this notice to see if there is any interest. It would be approx 6 hours per week and a suitable location would need to be established. The alternative is the Post Office may transfer provision to the likes of Holm Mains post office. If you email the secretary of Dores and Essich Community Council we will pass on your interest.

[email protected]

And just for information The Foyers Post Office is open 6 days a week Mon-Sat and the Holm Mains Post Office operates half days Monday, Wednesday and Friday

IMFLDP

June 9, 2021 by simon

Dear Community Council

  • You will recall that we consulted you on this document at the beginning of 2021. The public, the development industry and a variety of agencies have commented and you can now browse ‘who’s said what’ via https://consult.highland.gov.uk/kse/event/35403/peoplesubmissions/section/5445428
  • To see comments, browse using the left hand, expandable section headings to find what issue/place interests you and then click on VIEW COMMENTS. You don’t need to register. For example, to find comments for Alness click on ‘Main Settlements’ then ‘Alness’ then ‘VIEW COMMENTS’ (see below)
  • Despite glitches with the consultation software we use (it’s currently the best available on the market but we are considering alternatives) we have received over 1,400 comments from 431 respondents. This is a record total for a Highland development plan. An online only consultation promoted through social media has prompted comments on a wider range of topics than usual which probably reflects that we’ve reached a younger and more diverse audience than those reached by the traditional methods of paper press advert, public library deposit and village hall exhibitions.
  • We have only edited comments to delete personal private details and to rephrase references to named individuals that might be deemed defamatory/libellous. Occasionally we’ve moved comments to a more relevant section.
  • We intend to report a summary of all comments received and the content of the next formalised Plan to the 7 relevant Council committees at the turn of 2021/2022.

Red John Pump Storage Scheme

June 7, 2021 by simon

CONSENT UNDER SECTION 36 OF THE ELECTRICITY ACT 1989 AND DEEMED PLANNING PERMISSION UNDER SECTION 57(2) OF THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (SCOTLAND) ACT 1997 TO CONSTRUCT AND OPERATE THE RED JOHN PUMPED STORAGE HYDRO SCHEME APPROXIMATELY 14 KILOMETRES SOUTH-WEST OF INVERNESS WITHIN THE PLANNING AUTHORITY AREA OF HIGHLAND COUNCIL

I refer to the application made on 15 November 2018 by AECOM Infrastructure & Environment UK Limited on behalf of Intelligent Land Investments (ILI) (Highlands PSH) Ltd for consent under section 36 of the Electricity Act for the construction and operation of the Red John Pumped Storage Hydro Scheme approximately 14 kilometres south-west of Inverness within the administrative area of the Highland Council. The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have granted consent for this proposed Development.

The Scottish Ministers have also directed, under Section 57 (2) of the Town & Country Planning Act (Scotland) 1997, that planning permission is deemed to be granted.

The application was subject to a Public Local Inquiry (“PLI”) as a consequence of the Highland Council objecting to it and a report from that PLI has subsequently been submitted to the Scottish Ministers.

Due to the size of the decision letter (and accompanying annexes) and the report from the PLI, if they were to be sent as attachments to this email they would be too large for most inboxes. They have been uploaded to the ECU website and can be viewed at www.energyconsents.scot by:

–  clicking on the Search tab; then,

–  clicking on the Advanced Search tab; then,

–  typing  ECU00000728 into the ECU Reference box; then,

–  clicking the GO box; then,

–  clicking on  ECU00000728 and then clicking on the Documents tab; then,

–  clicking on the Determinations tab;

A copy of the decision letter has been provided to the Highland Council to be made available for public inspection by being placed on the Council’s planning register.
