Holm Road/Torbreck Road Works Update

February 18, 2022 by simon

McGowan Environmental Engineering Ltd

SSEN

Holm Road / Torbreck Lane

Cable Installation Works

Works Update – February 2022

Further to the ongoing cable installation works on Dores Road and the future works to be undertaken at Tobreck Lane we write to provide an interim update as follows (referencing the attached programme):

Progress / Programme

  • The works on Dores Road will continue working away from Inverness until we reach the Torbrek Lane junction. This is anticipated to be complete by approximately 16/2/22. Traffic management arrangements will be maintained as per current methodology until 16/2/22.
  • The works on Torbreck Lane are programmed to commence on 17/2/22 and complete on 11/03/22.
  • Horizontal Drilling works on Dores Road will be undertaken 14/3/22 to 1/4/22. NOTE – Horizontal drilling works shall not commence until after the Inverness half marathon (13/3/22). All McGowan traffic management shall be removed for the marathon in conjunction with Alba Traffic Management (Alba TM are also managing the Traffic Management for the marathon).
  • Works will return to Dores road to undertake chainage 200 – 500m inclusive of the Holm Roundabout. Current proposals to complete the works on Holm roundabout are to undertake the works between the hours of 1830 and 2230 over a 3 week period. The methodology to alter and minimise the impact on Holm Roundabout are currently under review.
  • Works along the full extent of Dores Road installing and jointing the cable will be undertaken 9/5/22 to 3/6/22.
  • Working days will be maintained Monday to Friday.

Local Arrangements on Torbreck Lane

  • As per previous requests, we have reviewed the potential to allow passing of pedestrians and cyclists whilst the works on Torbreck Lane are being undertaken. We confirm the methodology to permit the passing of pedestrians and cyclists will be to install a prepared pathway on the verge / around the edge of the works.
  • Whilst the Lane from Dores Road will be closed, waste vehicle access to Torbreck Lane properties will be maintained at all times from Essich Road as will access to the properties by the property owners.
  • Advance warning signs for Torbreck Lane works will be installed confirming passage for pedestrians and cyclists prior to works.

Holm Roundabout

  • Works on Holm roundabout are being reviewed to provide the optimum solution to minimise impact to the road users and local residents. We shall provide a further update on the Holm roundabout under separate cover.

Should you wish to discuss the works please do not hesitate to contact myself on the number below or our Project Manager (Douglas Munro) on 07508 217 996.
