January 21, 2022 by simon

We have had a number of reports of people visiting the area to walk their dogs where people have been bitten or their own dogs who are under control being overwhelmed by other dogs.

If you are bitten or attacked in the first instance phone the Police

The Highland Council have a page where you can report dog fouling a summary is below.

A dog is out of control if:

  • It is not being kept under control effectively and consistently
  • Its behaviour causes alarm, or fear to any person or animal

If any dog is out of control we have the power to serve a Dog Control Notice.

A dog is dangerously out of control in any public place if it  bites or tries to bite a person or seriously injures or kills another animal. This should be reported immediately to the Police for action under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.
