Dores and Essich Community Trust

November 29, 2022 by simon

The Dores Community Development Trust has been set up to manage any monies received by the community by outside agencies, such as Rock Ness or the community benefit from larger projects in the area. We currently hold approximately £150k.

Anyone living in the Parish for 3 years or more can be a member, and as a member, you can apply for funding for projects which would benefit the community.

The DCDT are also recruiting for Directors for 2023. Being a Director simply means attending a handful of meetings each year, where applications for funding are discussed and agreed. Directors may only remain on the Trust for 4 years concurrently.

If you would like to be a member or could give up a little time to be a Director, please see https://doresonlochness.com/services-information/dores-community-development-trust/ for more information.

Scottish Water Works at Torr Gardens

November 17, 2022 by simon

We will all have had the letter from Scottish Water through the door today and the agents for Morrison Construction have been round the doors. I am putting some notes up here just in case you were not in.

The water main replacement will start on the 21st of November. It will last approximately 2 weeks.

At all times access for vehicles in and out of Torr Gardens will be maintained. It will start at the end of Torr Gardens nearest the church and follow the kerb to roughly where the track goes up to the cottage on the hill. It will then follow the kerb area to where the cars park from 12 Torr Gardens to the beginning of Torr Gardens .

This will mean the cars in that area will need to move whilst they are digging in that area.

They will dig in 20 metre sections and backfill as they go. This will keep disruption to a minimum but also allow them to get the pipe in the ground and away as quick as possible.

Along the end of Torr Gardens should be ok as there is parking there, we might all need to squeeze in a bit . Between nos 12 and nos 4 we will have to shuffle around as best we can.

I have attached a picture and added a dotted line to show the route the water pipe it to be laid.

They have left the Agents numbers if you need to chat to them
